Year 6 residential

DAY 1

Some of our Year 6 children are away on residential at Beaudesert. Day 1 has been a success: the children loved setting up their tents ready to camp out tonight and have run around lots playing football and cricket. They have already completed two activities and have had a go at the Jacob's ladder, zipwire or the climbing wall. The teachers are hoping that that may have tired them all out enough to get a little bit of sleep! Here is a photo update so you can see a little bit of the action:

DAY 2

The children are a bit tired today after an exciting night in their tents - there were lots of owls about! However, sausage and beans for breakfast soon perked them up! They have been busy with activities this morning including climbing, caving and crate stacking. The children can't wait for the campfire this evening.

Day Three

Last night's camp fire was a roaring success with some great singing and great attitude as we joined with another school from Chesterfield. The children had a good night's sleep and worked hard to park up their suitcases and clear their tents - trying to get all those duvets back in small bags was no mean feat!

Everybody enjoyed their last two activities including monkey trees and climbing wall followed by a crowd-pleasing burger for lunch! Time for  quick trip to the shop for a souvenir (or a slushie!) and then back on the coach.

The children have been absolutely fabulous and a real credit to St John's.
