"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10

Perseverance

This week we talked about persevering on the race of life. We looked at stars of the Paris Olympics who had overcome challenges and persevered to achieve great things: Arshad Nadeem who made his own training equipment to learn how to throw the javelin and then went on to win Pakistan's first gold for athletics, Simone Biles who had had to pull out of Tokyo 2020 but came back stronger winning 3 golds and a silver in gymnastics, and Celine Dion who was told her illness would mean she may never sing again and against all odds, sang from the Eiffel Tower at the closing ceremony. We then thought about what challenges we have in life that we would like to face. We might not all become Olympians, and the challenges might seem small to others but hard for us. Staff and children have pledged their gold medal hopes on our values board.
