"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10
Black history month - British Black musicians
The Kanneh-Masons are seven brothers and sisters ranging in age from 24 to 11 years old all of whom play either violin, piano or cello. They have won many prizes and awards and appeared in lots of tv shows. Two of the videos below show their performances in Britain's Got Talent.
Their mum and dad played musical instruments to a really high standard but chose not to be professional musicians.
Their mum, Dr Kadiatu Kanneh was born in Sierra Lione but grew up in Wales. When she was an adult, she lectured in English at the University of Birmingham before moving to bring up her family in Nottingham. Their dad, Stuart Mason, was born in London and is a business executive. His parents came from Antigua.
The children are incredibly talented musicians. Sheku won Young Musician of the Year when he was just 16 and all the others are studying music or releasing albums or playing in bands (one performs with Clean Bandit).
