Bruno Mars – Count on me
Bruno Mars was born October 8, 1985, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The name he was given was Peter Gene Hernandez but was given the nickname Bruno when he was a toddler. His dad was a Latin percussionist and his mum was a Filipina vocalist and hula dancer. When he was four, he entertained people as an Elvis Presley impersonator with his parents’ band, the Love Notes.
As he grew up, he taught himself to play piano, guitar, bass, and percussion. Whe he left school, he moved to Los Angeles, and began his career as a musician. He is known for his energetic performances, retro style (the music sounds like old classics) and managing to use a wide range of styles like pop, R&B, funk, soul, reggae, hip hip, disco and rock.
His song 'Count on me' was released in 2011. It is an upbeat, positive song about how important a good friend is. As we keep bringing food for our Harvest appeal, we are people that can be counted on to make a difference in other people's lives.
