Music for the Coronation of King Charles III 1.5.23

The music hasn't been announced for the coronation of King Charles III yet; it will be a surprise on the day. Some clues have been published though. The music has been chosen by HM The King, and will showcase talent from across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. There will be a range of musical styles and performers, reflecting The King’s life-long love and support of music and the arts.

It is likely that there will be some music chosen which has been used in previous coronation ceremonies. Some of the most well known music written for royalty is by the German-born composer George Frederic Handel. He wrote music for the Coronation of King George II. His four coronation anthems, including Zadok the Priest, have been sung at every coronation since.
