The Pretenders – I'll stand by you

The Pretenders are a British–American rock band who started performing together in March 1978. The original band had four members: Chrisse Hynde who sang and played guitar,  James Honeyman-Scott on lead guitar and keyboard, Pete Farndon on bass guitar, and Martin Chambers on drums. Chrissie was the main song writer. The band has changed members over the years but she still performs in the band.

The song ‘I’ll stand by you’ was written in 1994. It talks about how if someone is feeling really sad and down, you can be a strong and faithful friend. It is a really famous song which has been covered by lots of other famous singers and bands.

As we complete our Harvest appeal, we can think about how we have been the strong and faithful friends to people in our community. Even if we have never met them, we have helped them in some small way.
