Hi Year 4,
Here is your remote learning for this week if you are isolating - remember, you don't have to complete any work at home if you feel poorly! Make sure your grown ups let the school office know if you are isolating. Mrs Large will check in with them via e-mail as soon as possible to check you are all ok, and to help you with your remote learning if needs be.
You can complete your learning on paper (to either take into school when you return, or to photograph and upload onto BGfL/Teams), or you can use a blank BGfL document.
This Week is British Science Week and theme is 'Growth. Check out this poster competition: https://www.britishscienceweek.org/plan-your-activities/poster-competition/
Please complete one lesson a day from this series of lessons based on explanatory texts. Similar to non-chronological reports, the purpose of an explanation text is to inform the reader:
Your class have been looking at tense recently - brush up on your skills here: https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/to-practise-using-simple-past-present-and-future-tense-c5hp2c
Your class are learning about decimals at the moment. Here are some lessons for you to try (one per day): https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/decimals-8526
Topic (Science) and Computing
Please complete one lesson per day from the following
Your current topic is ‘Super Sonologists! Sonologists are scientists who study sound. Learn more here by completing one lesson per day (If you were isolating last week you may have already started this – that’s fine – just carry on from where you got to): https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/sound-d324
Please scroll down to the video on this link: https://www.childnet.com/resources/video-lessons/the-s-rule
It is the first video in this series about the SMART rules for staying safe online – the ‘S’ rule. Watch the video and pause at the questions to see if you can answer them. Then show us what you’ve learned (make poster, write an information text, show your understanding via a cartoon... up to you!) You can always carry on and do the same for the other rules if you like!
Remember, there are lots more great remote learning resources on the school website here: https://www.st-johns-pri.bham.sch.uk/whole-school-online-resources/
