The Kinks were another English rock band who were around at the same time as the Beatles. They were formed at the other end of the country, in North London. They were most famous between 1963 and 1966.
The Kinks' music drew from a wide range of influences which were a little different to the Beatles. They also liked American R&B and rock and roll but later started to also use British music hall, folk, and country music.
They also wrote a song about the summer... and also one about a London sunset.
