Lent challenge - Compassionate Crusaders

This year, Lent will begin on Wednesday 2nd March and ends on Thursday 14th April. It starts on a day called 'Ash Wednesday' and is the period of time leading up to Easter. It is a time when Christians reflect on when Jesus spent 40 days in the desert on his own, fasting and praying in order to become closer to God. He was tempted and it was a challenging time for him, but his faith stayed strong. Christians will often give something up that is a luxury or treat e.g. chocolate and will not eat any of it until Easter day.

Other people see it as a time to give something back rather than give something up. To spend the time showing compassion and care for others. Have you got what it takes to be a Compassionate Crusader in Lent? Each day there will be a challenge for you to have a go at. Watch this video below if you want to be inspired about how you could make a difference to others - and see the impact it can have on other people's lives.

We are only going to do challenges on the days we are in school so we won't quite make it to 40 challenges - but that doesn't mean you can't give something back at the weekend! If you have any good ideas for ways we could give something back, talk to your Collective worship crew member.

Give something up or give something back?

Everyone, can help to make the world a better place!
