Week Beginning 24th January 2022

Year 5 remote learning week beginning 24th January 2022

Hi Year 5,

Here is your remote learning for this week if you are isolating - remember, you don't have to complete any work at home if you feel poorly! Make sure your grown ups let the school office know if you are isolating. Mrs Large will check in with them via e-mail as soon as possible to check you are all ok, and to help you with your remote learning if needs be.

Some of this week’s lessons have worksheets. If you have a printer and can print the sheets that’s great, but please don’t worry if you can’t. Answer as best you can on normal paper, or a blank BGfL document. Even just talking through the answers with a grown up is really beneficial!

English:

Please follow the link and complete one lesson per day

(If you were isolating last week and have already completed some of the lessons, please just begin wherever you left off.)

Topic, Computing and Spanish (choose one lesson per day)

Topic – The Islamic Golden Age (3 lessons)

All about Bagdad during the Islamic Golden Age.

Please scroll down for a PDF and a summary sheet to read. Then there are 3 worksheets to complete. Aim for one a day – (when the worksheets state ‘listen to or read’, it means for you to read the information on the PDF and the summary sheet to help you).

Computing

Please scroll down to the video on this link: https://www.childnet.com/resources/video-lessons/the-s-rule

It is the first video in this series about the SMART rules for staying safe online – the ‘S’ rule. Watch the video and pause at the questions to see if you can answer them. Then show us what you’ve learned (make poster, write an information text, show your understanding via a cartoon... up to you!)

If you were isolating last week and have already watched the first one, please watch the second one – the ‘M’ rule: https://www.childnet.com/resources/video-lessons/the-m-rule / and show what you have learned!

Spanish

Please scroll down to go through the PPT and then answer the worksheets
