"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10
A musical tour of Europe to celebrate the UEFA EURO 2020.
This week we are travelling to Germany. Johann Sebastian Bach is a German composer who lived over 400 years ago in 1685.
Bach came from a long line of composers - over 300 years' worth of Bachs all worked as professional musicians. By the time Johann was 10, both his parents had died, so he was brought up by his older brother. He worked for lots of different people... including a prince! But, when he was alive, he was thought of as just an ordinary musician. Now though, he is considered to be one of the greatest geniuses in music history. He wrote all kinds of music -- for organ and other keyboard instruments, orchestras, choirs, and concertos for many different instrumental combinations.
Look carefully at the video of a choir singing - you may even spot Mrs Hedges (who loves listening to, singing and playing Bach).
