Week Beginning 21st March 2022

Year 5 remote learning week beginning 21st March 2022

Hi Year 5,

Here is your remote learning for this week if you are isolating - remember, you don't have to complete any work at home if you feel poorly! Make sure your grown ups let the school office know if you are isolating. Mrs Large will check in with them via e-mail as soon as possible to check you are all ok, and to help you with your remote learning if needs be.

You can complete your learning on paper (to either take into school when you return, or to photograph and upload onto BGfL/Teams), or you can use a blank BGfL document.

In class you have been reading the book “Alex Rider: Pont Blanc”. Listen to the first part of chapter 1 here:

…and the second part here:

… and the first part pf chapter 3:

To fit in with your topic of ‘Earth Explorers’, your English lessons will be based around an animal that lives in mountainous regions – wild cats! Please follow the link and complete one lesson per day.

In class you are learning about homophones. Please follow this link for more: (there is a video to watch and some activities linked underneath)

This week you will be completing some revision on fractions. Please follow the link and complete one lesson per day, starting at lesson 1 (you are not expected to complete all of the lessons. If you were isolating last week and have already started from lesson 1, just carry on from where you left off):

Topic, Computing

Please choose one of the following lessons to complete each day

Topic (Geography)

You have recently been learning about Snowdonia – a mountain range in Wales.

Here are some Geography lessons based on Mountains. Please complete one lesson per day (if you started these last week that’s fine – just continue from where you left off):

Please scroll down to the video on this link:

It is the first video in this series about the SMART rules for staying safe online – the ‘S’ rule. Watch the video and pause at the questions to see if you can answer them. Then show us what you’ve learned (make poster, write an information text, show your understanding via a cartoon... up to you!)

If you have already watched the first one, please watch the second one – the ‘M’ rule: / and show what you have learned!

Remember, there are lots more great remote learning resources on the school website here:
