The nativity
Artist: Pulidindi Solomon Raj
Pulidindi Solomon Raj’s was a Christian who was born in Neggipudi, which is a tiny village Pradesh in South India. He was an artist who also explored drama, dance and music. His artwork often using Batik. This is a process where you draw and make shapes out of wax onto silk and then dye the silk. When you remove the wax, it leaves the pattern behind.
In this picture can you see Mary and Jesus. They are wearing traditional
Indian clothing. Look to her left and right. Who do you think these visitors are?
The bible tells us that shepherds and wise men visited the baby. Which ones do you think are the wise men? Why?
