Science - Fossils:

1. Learn about fossils and how they are formed using these web pages:

Then go to BGFL, my files, how fossils are formed and drag/reorder the pictures to sequence how fossils are formed.

 

2. Fossil sites

Go to BGFL, my files, Plot fossil sites. Use Google or an atlas to find where Lyme Regis is. Plot where it is on the UK map. Then using the website https://www.countryfile.com/go-outdoors/top-10-fossil-hunting-destinations/ choose three of the fossil sites and plot these using symbols on the UK map. Can you create a key e.g. Lyme Regis = orange circle, Herne Bay = blue circle.

 

3. Mountains

Research how mountains are formed using this website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z849q6f/articles/z4g3qp3 

The highest mountains in the UK are:

  • Ben Nevis 
  • Scafell Pike 
  • Slieve Donard 
  • Snowdon
