St John's School is a special place. Our ethos is summed up in our school code, The Golden Rule: Treat others as you want to be treated. Love for our neighbour, (or fellow human being) is at the heart of all that we do.
We believe that every child is made in the image of God and is unique. It is our responsibility to help them find their gifts and the confidence to shine so that they can become the best version of themselves. We encourage every child to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We have an exciting curriculum and we aim for children to leave us with a love of learning and the ability to think and question. As a Church school, we enable children to grow in, and reflect on, their own faith -no matter what that may be- and to respect the beliefs, opinions and lifestyles of others. We want them to grow into people with strong values that will enable them to make their communities better places in which to live and work.
We work with parents, community groups, and governors to give our children the very best start to their education. In the words of Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Our children are the world’s future and we believe they will make it a good one.
