"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10

Week Beginning 7th March 2022

Hi Year 3,

Here is your remote learning for this week if you are isolating - remember, you don't have to complete any work at home if you feel poorly! Make sure your grown ups let the school office know if you are isolating. Mrs Large will check in with them via e-mail as soon as possible to check you are all ok, and to help you with your remote learning if needs be.

Some of this week’s lessons may have worksheets. If you can print them out that’s great but please don’t worry if you can’t - you can complete the work on paper (and either upload a photo to BGfL/Teams or take it into school when you return) or you can complete the work on a blank BGfL document.

English:

Here is a series of English lessons relating to advertising. You will be thinking about how food is advertised as part of your new topic: ‘You Are What You Eat’. Please complete one lesson per day from this link (if you completed some last week that’s fine – just pick up where you left off): https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/healthy-food-persuasive-writing-2b8f

Maths

Here is some revision of concepts you have been learning throughout the year. Please follow the link and complete one lesson per day. (Again, if you started isolating last week and have already completed some of these revision lessons, please just carry on from where you got to.)

Alternatively, as you have recently learned about multiplication and division in class, you may wish to have a go one lesson per day from this series. There are lots of lessons here- you don’t need to complete them all, and if you were isolating last week and have already completed some, you can just pick up from where you left off: https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/multiplication-and-division-70b8

RE

Fairness and Justice

How do Sikhs try to make the world a fairer place?

Explore the Langar – a community kitchen within the Gurdwara which serves food to all. Go to https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/49957253 to watch the video and research the langar. Then answer these questions:

Why are there 4 doors on each side?

Who is welcome to eat?

What can non-Sikhs learn about the ritual of Langar?

Create a poster to present all your information.

Topic and D&T

Fitting in with your new topic of ‘You Are What You Eat’, here are some lessons all about cooking and nutrition. Please complete one a day: https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/cooking-and-nutrition-healthy-and-varied-diets-ec15

Remember, there are lots more great remote learning resources on the school website here: https://www.st-johns-pri.bham.sch.uk/whole-school-online-resources/
