This week is our last week of home learning (hopefully). We will continue to focus on adverts and then there are some activities for World Book Day!

Monday

To design a healthy snack

In this lesson, we will think about the snacks we eat and why we like them. We will look at an advert advertising an unhealthy snack, then think about healthy alternatives. Then, we will think of our own healthy snack and write a persuasive sentence about the snack we have designed.

World Book Day

  • Follow this link for storytelling with Alia Alzougbu who is a professional storyteller who will welcome you to Ancient Arabia. Step into the story and be delighted for a mischievous hour as she recounts some of the lesser-known stories from the timeless collection of the Arabian Nights :   https://www.settlestories.org.uk/whats_on/world-book-day-2021/

KS2 (years 3,4,5 and 6) SHOW: (1.30-2.15pm on Wed 3rd March) is suitable for KS2 (ages 7-11)

We recommend watching the show live but if you miss it will be available on catch up until 12pm on Wed 10th March. To access the show on catch up you still need to register for the event.

Once on the website, you will need to click on ‘Book Now’ on the relevant show. You will then get a link to the event sent to your email.

You might notice that the book has no illustrations so can you design your own front cover to the story or you could choose to illustrate a part from the story. Go to BGFL, shared files, your class folder and click on the file called BWGD template for a template.

Friday
