Advert for a Lunchtime Supervisor
Hours: 10 hours a week (Mon – Fri 11.50 – 1.50)
Salary: Grade 2 (term time only)
Contract: Permanent
At St John’s School, we have a strong inclusive policy and believe that all children should have access to high quality play and social interactions during their lunchtimes. Some children may need additional support with this and we are looking to employ a Lunchtime Supervisor to expand our team in order to further support our children, especially those with SEND.
You will work within a team and be responsible for supervising children during the lunchtime break. This involves looking after children in the dining hall, supporting them with selecting and eating lunch and taking part social activities in the playground or classroom. Previous experience is not necessary but evidence of a positive approach to children is essential. Knowledge of, or experience with, children with SEND needs, particularly autism, would be beneficial.
The successful candidate will:
* enjoy engaging children in play and able to instigate games with them
*understand that children have different needs and be able to respond to this in a supportive way
* to be caring and approachable when supervising children during lunchtime
* be a polite and a hardworking team member
* be competent in reading and writing English
* ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained at all times
* support the ethos of our school in a professional manner
*be committed to safeguarding all children
