"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10
So far in Year 1
We learnt all about ourselves, we then painted self portraits, and was able to name and label parts of the body. Then we learnt about lots of different celebrations from all around the world. We have created some Chinese art, and also found out about Guy Fawks and did lots of firework art.
Sports Day.
Today the children in Year One took part in their sports day.
They had to run, balance, throw and most of all have fun.
Egg and spoon race.
Balancing a quoit on your head.
Racing and throwing a bean bag into the hoop.
Green Fingers
In year one this term we have been busy learning all about growing things.
In the Role play there was a Garden Centre
The children made flowers to sell in the Garden Centre.
Planting Beans
First the children had to fill the cup with soil, and place the bean inside.
Next they had to cover the bean with soil and water it. Over the days the beans were watered daily.
Finally the beans started to grow, I wonder whose bean was the tallest?
Going on a tree hunt.
The children had to look very carefully to identify the leaves on the trees
Wild Safari
In year one our new topic is Wild Safari.
WORRY MONSTERS
The children have been using their D. T. skills to design and make a worry monster.
