30.6.23 newsletter

Dear parents and carers,

This week has felt very quiet in school as half of Year 6 have been on their residential and many of our families have been celebrating Eid. We hope that those of you celebrating Eid had a lovely time and were able to celebrate with your friends and family. We also hope that Year 6 parents coped alright this week with one less child at home!

Year 6 residential

Some of our Year 6 children have spent the last few days camping at Beaudesert and have had a go at lots of adventurous outdoor activities. They have had an amazing time and the teachers have come home saying what a brilliant group of children they were. Ms Lyne said how the children genuinely lived out our school values when trying out the activities and thought they were just fabulous. Mrs Akhtar was impressed with how well all the children coped being away from home - they have really grown in independence. Mrs Atkins has said how lovely it was to really get to know the children and see them having so much fun outside of the classroom. Mr Sufyain has promised that he has lots more photos to put onto the website - the phone signal wasn't great so we will make sure we have them all on next week. If you want to see how much fun they had, click the link below:

Mrs Shah's Summer Sale

Back by popular demand, Mrs Shah will be holding a summer sale in school for children. It will run for two weeks starting on Monday 3rd July. Items in the shop will range from 50p - £3. All proceeds from the sale will go to school funds.

Strike days

It looks likely that the planned strikes by the NEU are going ahead next week. School will be closed on Wednesday 5th and Friday 7th July for most pupils. If your child's class is open, you will receive a separate email this evening informing you of this. Thank you for your understanding.

Sports days

We managed to dodge the rain this week and have now had sports days for all year groups. I was lucky enough to be able to help out with two of the sports days and saw children persevering when they were finding it tough, showing a real team spirit and demonstrating some impressive sporting skills. Your children were a real credit to the school. Thank you to all those who came to support and cheer them on.
