Year 6 on the radio tomorrow!
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Exciting news from St John's school!
As part of PSHER (Personal, Social, Health, Economic and Relationships Education), the police came to run a workshop with Year 6. They spoke to the children about knife crime and and keeping safe on the streets. It was really interesting to hear the children's thoughts and opinions, as well as their worries about personal safety and ideas about why some young people carry knives. It was an excellent workshop which has been designed for children in Year 6 and above, as research has shown the police that more needs to be done to educate children before they are involved in criminal activity.
RadioWM also came along and interviewed some of the children and staff. We were really proud of some of the thoughtful things that they said and the way they conducted themselves throughout the session.
The interview will be on RadioWM tomorrow morning between 7am and 8am.
