"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10
Dear Year 6 parents,
I know how worried some of you will be about the cancellation of SATS this year and what this will mean for your children as they go to secondary school. I want to reassure you that this has happened to every school in the country, and so the Department for Education (DfE) will be working hard on a solution that will enable your children to successfully transition to the next phase of their education.
As soon as we are informed of the next steps, I will let you know. Until then, I have asked the Year 6 teachers to make the online learning of your children their top priority. They will not be sending you assessments or "best guesses" at this point because this could be counter to later advice.
Teachers at St John's do not just teach children so that they can pass SATS. We teach children so that they are educated: academically, socially, spiritually and personally. We will be doing our best to maintain this education over the next few weeks, regardless of whether or not there is a test to pass at the end of it.
Best wishes to you all,
Mrs Seymour
