Updated Covid Information: Delta variant
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Following my previous email, I have been informed that the Delta variant presents differently in children and young people and this is one of the reasons why it is spreading so fast.
Unfortunately, the three main symptoms are very common, particularly at this time of year.
The three main symptoms of the Delta variant in children and young people are:
1. A sore throat
2. A runny nose
3. A headache
These are common symptoms of things like a cold or hay fever. One of the reasons it has spread so quickly in children and young people is that people don't think it's Covid because the symptoms are different to the main three, and because they think they just have a cold.
If your child has any of these three symptoms, please book a Covid test. I appreciate this might cause you inconvenience, but I would rather be cautious than have classes of children back at home learning remotely.
I have also been told that the pop-up vaccine centres are not in the park today. Apparently there was very little take-up of the vaccine yesterday.
