Stars of the Week, Easter Competition and Weekly News update

Dear Parents and Children,

I hope you've had a chance to watch the film that the staff have made for you all! If you haven't, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYd4OgHu3IE

Here is today's Star of the Week Assembly and the Easter competition winners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STW1id_49EY&t=33s

I have had a very busy week trying to sort out all kinds of things that will mean that when we all come back together, things will be ready for you. I've also been catching up with lots of the teachers and teaching assistants and finding out about what you've all been up to. Thank you to those of you that have emailed me to let me know how you're getting on: I miss you all so much and I love hearing from you and seeing your work.

Virtual Golden Stickers

Mrs Hedges has been busy sending out virtual golden stickers for children whose work has impressed their teacher so much that they have sent it to her. If your work has been sent for a virtual golden sticker, Mrs Hedges will send you an email and a virtual golden sticker. We are putting the work up onto the website. Go to the Children tab, and you will see the page: Virtual Golden Stickers. If you scroll down this page you will see some of the work that has been given a golden sticker. Here’s a link to the page: https://www.st-johns-pri.bham.sch.uk/virtual-golden-sticker-work/ Mrs Hedges wants you to know that it is sometimes not possible for her to put your work up because of the format it is in, but she will always try her best.

The Music Service:

We have also added a link to some new Music Service materials so if your child is in Years 4, 5 or 6 and plays the flute or a brass instrument, they can access support for their learning. https://www.st-johns-pri.bham.sch.uk/music-3/

Easter Competition winners:

I was totally amazed at how many children entered this competition, even when we weren't at school. The standard was very high, and as always, I found it totally impossible to choose winners. Everyone that entered is a winner to me, and I'm so proud of you all for being bothered to make something and send it in digitally- even more of an effort than usual. Of course, it's a competition, so somebody has to win, so these are the winners and runners up for each category:

Early Years (Nursery & Reception)

1st place: Aisha (afternoon Nursery)

Lower School (Y1-3)

1st place: Aryan (Y1), Ruhiya (Y3), Estelle (Y1)

Runners up: Pranati (Y3), Hamza (Y2), Gurleen (Y3)

Upper School (Y4-6)

1st place: Maria (Y5), Fayzan (Y6), Adam R (Y4)

Runners up: Zane (Y6), Simran (Y5), Hooriya (Y6)

Well done and thank you to everyone who entered.

Best wishes and Peace be with you.

Mrs Seymour
