Sparkhill Play Area: news
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Unfortunately, there have been some issues involving St John's School children, in the play area of Sparkhill Park after school over the last few days.
I have contacted the Local Authority to find out what action school can take, and they have informed me that there is a limit to what we can do. This is because:
1) the trouble is not happening on the school premises or in school time, and
2) children are being supervised by their parents/carers who are therefore responsible for them.
The Local Authority have advised me to tell parents that they should ring the police if they feel threatened or intimidated by anyone, or if they feel a crime has been committed.
I have also contacted the local police, and they are going to try and increase their presence around the play area after school. Please speak to these officers if you feel it would help.
