"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10
Dear Parents,
As you know, teachers have been coming into school throughout this pandemic, determined to keep education going. Throughout these past 9 months, many of the staff have been ill- ten have tested positive for Covid. Four of these have been in the past two weeks. We have continued to provide remote education and education on site for critical workers and vulnerable children, even though staff are ill or isolating. It has been a real challenge.
Unfortunately, a member of staff who works across the school has just received a positive result. Due to the nature of this person's role, I am shutting the school until I have received advice from Public Health England. I apologise for the late notice: this is unavoidable. I cannot risk spreading the virus further. I would not take this decision if I did not feel I had to. The DfE Covid advice line opens at 8am and I shall ring them straight away. I will of course inform you immediately of what they say.
You may find that your child's teacher cannot contact you via Teams tomorrow- they may have left their laptop at school expecting to be in. If this is going to happen to your class, you will receive a Parentmail tomorrow which will direct your child to the website. Please bear with us- we will do our best.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Mrs Seymour
