"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10
Dear Parents/Carers
St John's has been chosen to be part of a news report on Midland's Today to talk about what lockdown was like for our children, parents and teachers. We have had a reporter in today talking to myself, a parent and some children. The children are all very excited about the prospect of being on tv but any filming that has taken place has been from a distance or will be out of focus so as not to identify any of them. You will have been contacted if you child has been interviewed.
We are so proud of how well our children have coped throughout lockdown and through the closure of bubbles this term. We are putting extra provision and support in place to help children to 'catch up' with the gaps in their learning, to improve their fitness and also to support families with their mental health and worries. We don't know what the future may hold, but we do know that your children are at the centre of our school and we will do everything we can to support them on their learning journey.
If you do have any concerns about how your child has been affected or if you ever think that you need some support, please contact us.
The news item should be on tv this evening at 6.30pm on Midland's Today. I'm not sure I am a natural on the tv - I'm not sure I even have the courage to watch it myself!
Best Wishes,
Mrs Hedges
