International Women's Day
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Tuesday March 8th is INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.
We will be celebrating this important day with an assembly for Years 1-6 about gender equality.
International Women's Day began in 1911, a time during which women in the UK did not have many of the rights that they now enjoy. They were seen as inferior to men, and incapable of doing the same things. It is still an important day around the world because women and girls are not always seen as equal to men and boys. We will also be learning about Dr Hawa Abdi- an inspirational Somali woman.
