The 8th May 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. This is called VE day (Victory in Europe Day). Over this half term, we will listen to music inspired by VE day.
'Hymn to the Fallen' - John Williams
This piece of music was composed by John Williams. He is a very famous film composer and you might know some of his music from Harry Potter, Star wars or even Home Alone! This piece of music is called ‘Hymn to the Fallen’ and is taken from Steven Spielberg’s 1998 war movie, Saving Private Ryan. It is often played on Veteran’s day in the US.
