Cynthia Erivo (born 8 January 1987) is a British actress and singer. She has become more famous recently as she played the role of Elphaba in the musical fantasy film Wicked.
In 2019, she played the role of Harriet Tubman in the film ‘Harriet’. Harriet was an inspirational woman; after escaping slavery, she carried out 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people, including her family and friends.
This song is taken from the film. The song is a ballad with a gospel feel to it, and the lyrics talk of hope when overcoming obstacles and always showing kindness to others. The final lyrics 'I go to prepare a place for you' are said to be the last words she ever said.
