"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10
In Black History month, we talked about how we should be celebrating the influence of Black culture all year round not just in one month. As part of our value on 'Respect' we will look at different artists of Black heritage.
Faouzia & John Legend - Minefields
"Minefields" is a song recorded by Moroccan-Canadian singer-songwriter Faouzia and American singer-songwriter John Legend.
Faouzia Ouihya was born in Morocco and moved with her family at the age of one to Canada. Faouzia began writing songs and poems when she was five years old and playing piano at the age of six. She later studied how to play guitar and violin. She speaks fluent English, French, and Arabic.
John Stephens was born in Ohio, USA. He began playing the piano at age 4. At the age of 15, Legend won a Black History Month essay competition run by McDonald's, answering "How do you intend to make Black history?" with an essay about how he intended to be a successful musician.
