Wynton Learson Marsalis (born October 18, 1961) is an American trumpeter, composer and teacher. He was born on New Orleans – the birthplace of jazz. He grew up in a musical family and at 6 years old he was given a trumpet to play and soon turned into a very talented trumpeter.  

What makes him stand out from other jazz trumpeters is that he also plays classical music to a really high standard.
