Beyonce and her country music friends 

Beyonce released an album called ‘Cowboy Carter’ which although was considered a country music album, it managed to blend lots of diverse music genres like R&B, folk, rock, pop, hip hop and even opera.  

One of the songs ‘Blackbiird’ is a cover of a song by the Beatles. She asked fellow black country singers to collaborate with her: Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, Tiera Kennedy.  

The song uses the original instrumentation used by the Beatles. Paul McCartney was impressed with the cover version "I think she does a magnificent version of it and it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired me to write the song in the first place. I think Beyoncé has done a fab version and would urge anyone who has not heard it yet to check it out. You are going to love it!"
