Emeli Sandé, is a Scottish singer and songwriter. She was born in 1987 to an English mother and a Zambian father. Emeli wrote her first song at the age of 11, for her primary-school talent show. She always knew she wanted to write her own songs as she “never thought it was an option to sing anyone else's songs."
