1980s Whitney Houston : Houston was born in New Jersey. Her mum was the gospel singer Cissy Houston.  

Whitney began singing at a young age in gospel music at church. She had an impressive ranging mezzo-soprano voice. Whitney Houston has earned six Grammy Awards She had a total of 11 Billboard Hot 100 number-ones, She is the most-awarded female artist of all time. 

Whitney Houston ‘Higher love’ has recently been re-released with Norwegian DJ Kygo, she had released a cover of the song in 1980 (was originally a song by Steve Winwood)

1990s Celine Dion: She was born in  Quebec in Canada. She is the youngest of 14 children. When she was 12 years old, her brother sent a recording to a manager and released her first album in 1981. She won the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest where she represented Switzerland. 

She has sold the most albums in the world for a female artist. She has also sold the most French albums with 7 million copies. Dion is the best-selling Canadian artist of all time

 2000s Adele Laurie Blue Adkins  is better known simply as Adele. She is an English singer, songwriter and musician. As a child she was inspired by the Spice Girls and Ella Fiztgerald and also Celine Dion. "Hello", became the first song in the US to sell over one million digital copies within a week of its release.
