This painting is of Mary looking at the baby Jesus while he lies in a manger. The stable would have been quite a cold and uncomfortable place to stay in, but the artist here makes it feel warm and welcoming. You can feel the love that Mary has for her baby.  

Joseph has turned away to see who is at the stable door. Can you see if there is anything else also gazing at Jesus?
