  • Week 1 'Mercy, mercy me'

David Attenborough is a natural historian who has spent his lifetime exploring the world. He is a champion for fighting against the negative impact humans are having on the world and looking at ways to repair the damage being done. David Attenborough is going to be 100 in May and so this term, we are listening to music which looks at how important the world is which God created for us.

The impact of climate change is something which has been a concern for years - since before even some of the teachers were born! This song by Marvin Gaye was released in 1971. He sings of the things that are changing for the worse, and how things aren't what they used to be. Marvin Gaye was a soul singer and this song became so well known because of how sorrowful and reflective it was about the world.

    Whoa, oh mercy, mercy me
Oh, things ain't what they used to be, no, no
Where did all the blue skies go?
