Gabriel's Oboe is a theme tune taken from the 1986 film 'The mission'. It is written by the Italian composer Ennio Morricone. It has become such a famous piece of music that it has been rearranged for lots of different instruments – even for singers. Here is the original version, played on the oboe. You can also listen to it played on the cello by Hauser and sung by Katherine Jenkins.
