"Use your God-given gifts to serve others." 1 Peter 4: 10
Dear Parents/Carers,
As you will have seen in the media, the weather is set to get dangerously warm on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Temperatures might reach up to 40 degrees!
To help the children keep cool, please send them in loose, light-coloured clothing. If your child has a school uniform summer dress, or school shorts, then they can wear these. If they don't have these, please send them in any plain shorts/skirts and their PE t-shirt. Usually we are very fussy about uniform, but we think that in weather conditions like these, keeping the children cool is the most important thing.
They do NOT need:
- jumpers
- ties
- jackets
- vests underneath their clothes
- woollen tights
- football shirts
- thick clothes like jeans
They DO need:
- loose t-shirt/ dress
- plain shorts or skirt (ideally grey school uniform, but otherwise, anything lightweight that will keep them cool. Please don't buy anything new- as long as it's loose-fitting and cool, it will be fine)
- sun hat
- sun glasses
- sun screen
- water bottle
We will not be going out to play in the sunshine, and we will be rotating the children around air-conditioned classrooms as much as we can. There will be no PE or vigorous physical activities happening on these hot days.
I will send out information later this weekend about how we will manage home time as I don't want the children (or teachers and parents) having to wait on the play areas without shade.
Best wishes,
Mrs Seymour
