On Thursday we took part in world book day, in reception our chosen author was Eric Carle. We have been reading a variety of his books including the The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children had a choice to be a character out of any of the books or to dress as anything else they wanted. We had lots of princesses and super heroes.
In RDM we made music by playing instruments to tell the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar .
In RB we had Helicopter Stories. This involves the children making up their own stories and acting them out. It has a marked impact on children’s communication and language skills as well as their creativity and imagination.
We explored and tasted some of the fruit eaten by the caterpillar. The children cut up fruit to make their own individual fruit kebabs.
Time to enjoy them.
We made our own beautiful butterflies which will be displayed in the hall.
We finished our day sharing stories with the year 6 children.
